Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to lead the architecture and delivery of software systems supporting the engineering, construction, and operation of critical minerals infrastructure. This role combines full-stack development, system design, cloud architecture, data integrations, DevOps, AI/ML integration, and technical leadership across Mariana’s internal software platform and mineral processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design and architecture of internal software tools used by engineering, construction, and operations teams.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable software systems supporting critical minerals infrastructure.
  • Architect and implement complex integrations with engineering and construction platforms such as Autodesk.
  • Establish best practices for API design, data synchronization, and enterprise software integrations.
  • Lead development of web applications and internal platforms used across capital projects and plant operations.
  • Make technical decisions related to frameworks, cloud infrastructure, backend architecture, and deployment strategies.
  • Evaluate third-party software solutions and provide recommendations on build-versus-buy decisions.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives with Machine Learning Engineers to integrate ML, reinforcement learning, and LLM-powered features.
  • Design production-ready AI integrations with appropriate scalability, reliability, and error handling.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across the engineering team.
  • Conduct code reviews and establish software engineering best practices.
  • Participate in technical strategy discussions and long-term technology roadmap planning.
  • Own reliability, performance, and optimization of critical production systems.
  • Contribute to the development of Mariana’s operating system for engineering, construction, and mineral processing facilities.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Proven track record delivering complex production software systems.
  • Deep expertise across frontend, backend, database, and cloud infrastructure layers.
  • Strong experience translating business requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Proven leadership experience through technical lead, management, or cross-functional ownership roles.
  • Strong system design and software architecture experience.
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React or Vue.
  • Experience with backend technologies including Node.js, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience with data engineering, ETL pipelines, or ML/AI integrations is a plus.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-moving environments.
  • Startup experience in rapidly scaling organizations is helpful but not required.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, mining, or capital projects is beneficial but not required.
