Job Summary
Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Process Control Engineer to design, develop, and optimize control systems across aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix facilities.

This role focuses on process control design, PLC/HMI development, electrical efficiency, and supporting plant operations through innovation and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve electrical efficiency and reduce costs
  • Provide cost estimates for plant modifications and new facilities
  • Design process control systems including PLC, HMI, plant networks, and schematics
  • Develop PLC and HMI programs for industrial plant operations
  • Support installation and configuration of plant networks, wireless systems, and firewalls
  • Manage engineering projects including schedules, milestones, and coordination with contractors
  • Review capital and expense projects for feasibility, design accuracy, and cost efficiency
  • Drive standardization and innovation across engineering and control systems

Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
– 5+ years of experience in industrial control systems design and installation

  • Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI programming
  • Experience with Allen Bradley, GE, Wonderware, and Pi Historian systems
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and reporting tools
  • Understanding of industrial control systems and electrical troubleshooting
  • Experience with plant networking and system integration
  • Project management and multi-project coordination skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work in deadline-driven, technical environments
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
