Job Summary
Florence Copper is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Commissioning Technician to support automated control systems used in industrial and manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, programming, configuring, and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, instrumentation, industrial networks, and electrical control systems to improve production quality, safety, efficiency, and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and optimize automated control systems used in industrial processes.
• Ensure process control systems function efficiently and effectively to support production quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Monitor and troubleshoot process control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
• Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and maintenance of control system components.
• Assist with programming, configuration, and optimization of control systems to improve production processes.
• Work with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to identify and resolve control system issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to control system operations.
• Maintain accurate records of control system changes, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support and training to production staff on process control systems.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Industrial Automation Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology.
• Two years of related experience.
• Experience with PLC programming, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Studio 5000.
• Experience with HMI development and FactoryTalk View.
• Experience with SCADA systems design and programming.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic control systems and components.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, process calibrators, meters, and meggers.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation, including flow, level, and temperature transmitters, controllers, and final control elements.
• Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols, including Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and Profibus.
• Experience with Ethernet switch configuration and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Experience with variable frequency drive programming and configuration.
• Experience with industrial 480VAC motor starters and controls.
• Experience with configuration and programming of motor relays.
• Experience with 24VDC control circuitry design and maintenance.
