Job Summary
Vulcan Materials Company is seeking an Applied Data Analyst to design, build, and deploy data pipelines and machine learning models that support business decision-making.

This role focuses on data engineering, statistical modeling, and developing scalable data-driven solutions for complex operational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and validate machine learning models for predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and business insights
  • Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for data ingestion and transformation
  • Process and clean structured and unstructured datasets for analytical use
  • Develop and maintain data architectures and dimensional models
  • Apply statistical methods and experimentation to solve business problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support data-driven initiatives

Skills
– 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, data science, or related field
– Strong experience with Python and SQL for data processing and modeling

  • Experience with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PySpark
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques (regression, classification, clustering)
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Experience with big data frameworks such as Spark
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and statistical skills
  • Understanding of data engineering and data architecture principles
