Job Summary
Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Process Control Engineer to design, develop, and optimize control systems across aggregate, asphalt, and ready-mix facilities.
This role focuses on process control design, PLC/HMI development, electrical efficiency, and supporting plant operations through innovation and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve electrical efficiency and reduce costs
- Provide cost estimates for plant modifications and new facilities
- Design process control systems including PLC, HMI, plant networks, and schematics
- Develop PLC and HMI programs for industrial plant operations
- Support installation and configuration of plant networks, wireless systems, and firewalls
- Manage engineering projects including schedules, milestones, and coordination with contractors
- Review capital and expense projects for feasibility, design accuracy, and cost efficiency
- Drive standardization and innovation across engineering and control systems
Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
– 5+ years of experience in industrial control systems design and installation
- Strong knowledge of PLC and HMI programming
- Experience with Allen Bradley, GE, Wonderware, and Pi Historian systems
- Knowledge of SQL Server and reporting tools
- Understanding of industrial control systems and electrical troubleshooting
- Experience with plant networking and system integration
- Project management and multi-project coordination skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in deadline-driven, technical environments
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
