Job Summary
Hycroft Resources & Development, LLC is seeking an Exploration Drilling Superintendent to support exploration drilling activities at the Hycroft asset near Winnemucca, Nevada.

This role serves as the key liaison with drilling contractors and other contract teams supporting exploration. The Exploration Drilling Superintendent oversees RC and core drilling performance, contractor coordination, drilling consumables, cost tracking, drill pad and road construction, reclamation support, safety culture, and weekly/monthly reporting in coordination with exploration, operations, safety, and environmental teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee drilling activities on the property
  • Track drill performance, including costs, mud usage, and recovery using Krux or equivalent software
  • Review daily drill logs to verify accurate cost allocation
  • Track drilling consumables and maintain adequate supply levels
  • Coordinate with drilling contractors and contract teams supporting exploration
  • Work with contractors to build and maintain an effective safety culture
  • Ensure Hycroft standards, policies, and procedures are followed
  • Supervise and support construction of drill pads, roads, and associated reclamation activities as needed
  • Provide weekly updates on drilling performance and costs
  • Support monthly accrual reporting
  • Comply with company policies related to safety, environmental performance, confidentiality, and code of conduct
  • Exercise discretion and judgment in supervising team performance
  • Set an example for safe work practices and work without risk or harm
  • Develop department personnel to perform required duties
  • Perform other related functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 10+ years of drilling experience required
  • Strong understanding of core and RC drilling techniques required
  • Experience in both core and RC drilling preferred
  • Experience in contract management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of computers, including word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
  • Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees and management at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the exploration team
  • Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, loaders, or dozers preferred
  • Proven organizational and supervisory skills

Physical Requirements

  • Work in field, exploration, drilling, and mine site environments
  • Support drilling contractors and field crews on active exploration programs
  • Support drill pad, road construction, and reclamation activities as needed
  • May operate or work around equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, loaders, and dozers
  • Observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions
  • Follow operating procedures and comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
