Job Summary
SRK Consulting is seeking a Mine Closure and Permitting Consultant to support mining clients in Alaska and across North America.

This role focuses on mine permitting, reclamation, environmental studies, project management, environmental audits, due diligence reports, proposal preparation, cost estimation, and client relationship development within the mining and metals sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on projects for Alaska and North American clients, with some travel required
  • Complete assignments primarily related to the mining industry
  • Support mine permitting activities
  • Support reclamation and environmental studies
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimates
  • Conduct project management activities
  • Conduct environmental audits
  • Prepare due diligence reports
  • Establish and maintain client relationships
  • Apply knowledge of local regulations and federal environmental permit programs

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in physical sciences such as Geology or Environmental Science, or engineering such as Civil, Mining, Environmental, or Geological Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the mining industry
  • Consulting, operational, or regulatory experience preferred
  • Mine closure and reclamation experience
  • Knowledge of local regulations and federal environmental permit programs preferred
  • Strong writing skills
  • Effective communication, management, and leadership qualities
  • Ability to establish and maintain client relationships
