Job Summary
SRK Consulting is seeking a Principal Civil / Environmental Engineer to help advance its engineering and environmental practice in Tucson, Arizona.

This role supports multi-disciplinary mine development, site characterization, reclamation, engineering design, project management, business development, client engagement, and mentorship for mining projects across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and other regions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively support the advancement of SRK’s engineering and environmental practice in Tucson
  • Lead new business development efforts and proposal development
  • Develop and support multi-disciplinary mine development, site characterization, and reclamation projects
  • Develop engineering scopes from conceptual studies through feasibility studies and manage delivery of technical work products
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, change control processes, sub-consultants, and contractors
  • Provide technical oversight of engineering design projects, including design criteria, alternatives development, and cost estimation
  • Prepare and review supporting engineering calculations, models, and methods
  • Manage delivery of technical work products in an engineering team environment
  • Interface with clients and perform site visits with limited travel as required
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and geoscientists
  • Collaborate with global technical specialists across mining, geochemistry, geotechnics, groundwater, and environmental disciplines
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Arizona or ability to obtain registration within one year
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the mining industry
  • Professional consulting services experience preferred
  • Ability and desire to collaborate with SRK global technical specialists in a team-oriented environment
  • Expert analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills
