Job Summary
SRK Consulting is seeking a Civil / Environmental / Geotechnical Engineer to support mine waste, water engineering, permitting, reclamation, and field engineering projects in Alaska.

This role provides civil and environmental engineering support for mining and metals sector projects, including engineering design, cost estimating, permitting applications, technical deliverables, field investigations, construction oversight, and QA/QC activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide civil and environmental engineering support for mine waste and water engineering projects
  • Prepare and review construction cost estimates
  • Prepare and review reclamation cost estimates
  • Assist with project management of technical deliverables, schedules, and budgets
  • Assist with preparation of permitting applications
  • Perform field work, including geotechnical investigations and engineering oversight during construction
  • Manage QA/QC activities on mine-related earthworks
  • Work collaboratively with other technical specialists
  • Develop and maintain client relationships

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in the mining industry or engineering consulting
  • Registered EIT or PE preferred, or ability to obtain certification
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, GIS, slope stability analysis, hydrologic analysis, or related software programs preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform field work, including geotechnical investigations and engineering oversight during construction
  • Ability to support QA/QC activities on mine-related earthworks
  • Ability to work in project and field environments as required
