Job Summary
AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Principal Hydrogeologist to lead hydrological analysis, modelling, and water management strategies for mining projects in Nevada.

This role is critical to supporting permitting, environmental compliance, and long-term water stewardship in arid mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead groundwater and surface water studies to support permitting (EIS/NEPA)
  • Develop and manage hydrological models and impact assessments
  • Provide input on infrastructure design (dams, diversion channels, flood control)
  • Design and oversee water management strategies for heap leach operations
  • Monitor water quality and quantity, analyzing trends and risks
  • Support climate assessments and long-term water supply planning
  • Prepare technical reports and regulatory documentation
  • Interface with regulators, consultants, and stakeholders on water-related issues
  • Collaborate with project teams to optimize dewatering and water management plans
  • Lead hydrology-related initiatives across Nevada mining projects

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Geology, or related field
– 7–10 years of experience in hydrogeology within mining or related industries

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience with MODFLOW, GoldSIM, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS
  • Knowledge of NEPA and water permitting regulations
  • Experience in arid environments and water rights (Nevada)
  • Strong technical writing and data analysis skills
  • Experience managing consultants and technical teams
