Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to support the identification and advancement of high-quality exploration opportunities across its portfolio.

This role contributes to the discovery and evaluation of world-class ore bodies through desktop and field-based evaluations, geological data compilation, 3D modeling, target generation, project assessment, and collaboration with multidisciplinary exploration teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to NGM’s safety culture and programs while encouraging safe work practices across teams
  • Identify and support the evaluation of third-party exploration opportunities
  • Compile, clean, and analyze geological data using appropriate software platforms
  • Develop and assess exploration targets across NGM’s portfolio
  • Create 3D geological models to support mineral exploration targeting and project assessment
  • Collaborate with technical teams to support Barrick’s exploration strategy and growth objectives
  • Generate new target concepts to expand Barrick’s exploration footprint in North America
  • Work with land and legal departments to support execution of confidentiality agreements
  • Communicate professionally with potential business partners
  • Prepare technical and business-focused presentations and reports for cross-functional stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or related field required
  • Master’s degree or PhD in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience with strong emphasis in exploration, mineral economics, and leadership
  • Strong foundation in geology, exploration procedures, business acumen, and commercial skills
  • Experience working in team environments with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Broad geological knowledge with experience across multiple terranes
  • Broad experience across gold and copper deposit types
  • Experience with targeting tools including geophysical, geochemical, remote sensing, and geological field methods
  • Ability to develop complex 3D geological models using Leapfrog
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS and Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Strong data analysis and business analysis skills
  • Ability to conduct detailed analysis, define milestones, and provide business logic and calculations
  • Ability to deliver concise technical and business-focused presentations and reports to broad audiences
  • Organized, motivated self-starter with high personal and team standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
