Job Summary
Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Mine Maintenance Planner to develop, implement, and manage maintenance planning strategies and schedules for mine equipment and assets.
This role supports preventive, predictive, routine, and corrective maintenance programs, helping ensure asset availability, equipment reliability, production alignment, and compliance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule routine, corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance activities for mobile and fixed mine equipment
- Support optimal asset availability and reliability through effective maintenance planning
- Identify, prioritize, and coordinate maintenance tasks based on equipment condition, criticality, and production needs
- Track and manage work orders, asset documentation, spare parts, and inventory alignment using production software
- Collaborate with operations, production, supply chain, and contractors to schedule shutdowns and secure required materials
- Align maintenance schedules with overall operational plans
- Assist in developing and updating annual maintenance budgets
- Report on cost control, equipment usage, and work completion metrics
- Prepare and deliver work packs, technical reports, and completion documentation to supervisors
- Monitor equipment performance and maintenance history to identify trends and improve planning
- Support continuous improvement in maintenance practices and asset reliability
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies in maintenance planning and execution
- Train maintenance employees in production software and planning/scheduling processes as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Mechanical or electrical trade certification preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience in maintenance planning or related fields within the mining industry
- Advanced proficiency with maintenance management system software, scheduling tools, and data analysis tools
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Knowledge of mining equipment, asset management, and maintenance strategies
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance data, and engineering drawings
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an active mining or production environment as needed
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment in production areas
- Ability to observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions
- Ability to follow operating procedures and comply with regulatory requirements
- Strong commitment to safe working practices and environmental requirements
