Job Summary
U.S. Silica is seeking an Electrical Technician to support mining and industrial operations by maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment.

This role bridges routine electrical maintenance and advanced troubleshooting, contributing directly to plant reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and document pre-shift inspections on mobile and plant equipment
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and industrial systems
  • Install and assist in installing new electrical and electronic equipment
  • Maintain plant automation and control systems (HMI, PLC, networks, MES)
  • Support process control, instrumentation, and system troubleshooting
  • Implement and support capital projects within schedule and budget
  • Document system changes, improvements, and maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to ensure workflow continuity
  • Train and mentor electrical personnel
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas
  • Follow all safety protocols (LOTO, Confined Space, SLAM, etc.)
  • Use proper PPE and adhere to safety standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
– High school diploma or GED required
– Electrical license or apprenticeship required
– 5+ years of experience as an industrial electrician or electrical technician

  • Strong knowledge of low and high voltage systems
  • Experience with PLCs and 3-phase power systems
  • Ability to read schematics and ladder logic diagrams
  • Experience with precision instruments (ohmmeters, calipers, micrometers)
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and integrated system troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of industrial/manufacturing processes
  • Strong problem-solving and maintenance planning skills
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Additional Experience May Include
  • MSHA knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience in mining or industrial environments
  • Automation and process control systems experience
