Job Summary
Bunker Hill Mining Corporation is seeking an Accountant to support daily accounting operations at its active mine operation in Kellogg, Idaho.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, processing payroll and financial transactions, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting inventory accounting activities in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post routine journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
- Support month-end close activities, including data gathering and validation within established deadlines
- Process payroll for hourly and salary employees
- Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions for accuracy and proper coding
- Process journal entries, invoices, and other financial transactions accurately and on time each month
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including cash, inventory, prepaid expenses, and accruals
- Assist with inventory accounting, including reconciliation of physical counts to system records
- Identify, document, and communicate physical inventory variances promptly
- Maintain accurate accounting documentation and records in support of audits and internal controls
- Support purchase order, receipt, and three-way match processes in coordination with procurement
- Adhere to internal controls, accounting policies, audit requirements, and compliance standards
- Coordinate with operations, warehouse, and procurement teams to support accounting processes
- Communicate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and obtain supporting documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience; internships or co-op experience welcome
- Experience processing payroll
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- General understanding of accounting principles and financial controls
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic accounting and financial analysis skills
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in an operational environment
- Experience in mining, manufacturing, or heavy industrial settings preferred
- Exposure to ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Pronto preferred
- Progress toward CPA or other professional certifications preferred
Physical Requirements
- Site-based role in an active mine operation
- Primarily office-based with occasional visits to warehouse or operational areas
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
- May require occasional overtime during month-end close
