Job Summary
Climax Molybdenum, a Freeport-McMoRan company, is seeking an Operational Systems Analyst II to support operational applications, data interfaces, reporting, application health, and system enhancements at its Climax operations in Colorado. This role supports site users, field equipment interfaces, application and database servers, reporting tools, and operational technology systems used across mining and milling operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support clients of operational applications by providing data for specific requests and resolving system functionality and performance issues.
  • Coordinate training efforts for field equipment interfaces and provide trainers with the tools and knowledge needed to train operators.
  • Provide technical training to system clients, technical staff, and management on operational applications and data interfaces.
  • Manage application and database server organization and coordinate installations, upgrades, and enhancements.
  • Create and maintain reports using advanced querying and report-building tools.
  • Maintain system health for supported applications and perform database administration tasks.
  • Design and plan enhancements to current systems and coordinate implementation with vendors, application owners, and other stakeholders.
  • Design, develop, or coordinate interfaces that integrate data from multiple operational systems for data consumers.
  • Develop and implement modifications for custom applications to improve operational efficiency.
  • Promote safety and environmental programs, ensure MIS policy compliance, and support site operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a mining-related engineering discipline and one year of experience in an engineering, systems administration, or technology support role; or
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a mining-related engineering discipline and three years of experience in an engineering, systems administration, or technology support role; or
  • High School diploma or GED and seven years of experience in general information technology, software troubleshooting, computer systems maintenance, and application support.
  • Understanding of data concepts and usage.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.
  • Candidates must pass all required training and testing.
  • Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, including shift work, in a 24/7 operation.
  • Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing drug and alcohol testing may be required, as allowed by applicable laws.
