Job Summary
Hycroft Resources & Development, LLC is seeking a Senior Geologist to support exploration and production geology activities at the Hycroft open pit gold and silver mine near Winnemucca, Nevada.

This role supports drill planning and execution, core and RC logging, geological mapping, geological interpretation, near-mine reconnaissance, sampling, QA/QC, geological modeling, geotechnical data collection, and coordination with mine operations, survey, engineering, and other site teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and supervise drill plans for RC, sonic, and core drilling programs
  • Provide accurate monthly cost reports, variance analysis, and cash-flow forecasts
  • Perform regular drill rig inspections and checks to ensure safety and environmental protocols are met
  • Generate reports to track drilling progress and field observations
  • Log core and RC samples as required, including collection of geological and geotechnical information
  • Review assay results from drilling and sampling programs
  • Review QA/QC data, monitor lab performance, identify sample failures, and generate monthly reports
  • Update geological models in Leapfrog using lithology, hyperspectral, geochemical, and oriented structural data
  • Conduct in-pit mapping and data analysis for mine modeling and geotechnical evaluation
  • Conduct soil and rock sampling programs
  • Collect data using handheld XRF and magnetic susceptibility tools
  • Support Drill Services with drill pad locations and logistics as needed
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
  • Follow company values, policies, and management standards
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • University degree in Geosciences with field camp required
  • 10+ years of exploration and production experience in an open pit or underground environment preferred
  • Ability to work with Leapfrog and Vulcan
  • Working knowledge of acQuire or MX Deposit database systems
  • Ability to perform all aspects of QA/QC
  • Ability to conduct surface or underground geological mapping
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders including Mine Operations, Survey, Engineering, and other departments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
