Job Summary
Alcoa is seeking an HR Specialist to support tactical HR, administrative, compliance, benefits, analytics, and employee engagement functions at its Massena, New York facility.

This role operates within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment and supports HR and plant leadership through onboarding, benefits administration, leave programs, workforce analytics, compliance support, employee relations activities, and cross-functional coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support HR and plant leadership with document preparation, data entry, file organization, mailings, and routine audits
  • Administer local HR processes including hiring, onboarding, compensation and benefits support, EEO/AA compliance, and leave programs
  • Support FMLA, New York State Paid Leave, disability, and related employee leave programs
  • Serve as an operational contact for employee benefits administration including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and related programs
  • Coordinate with external benefits vendors to resolve escalated issues and ensure service accuracy
  • Develop and maintain workforce analytics dashboards for attendance and leave exposure
  • Partner with IT and corporate HRIS teams on system enhancements, integrations, and cross-functional reporting
  • Monitor leave utilization trends, identify high-risk indicators, and recommend corrective measures to HR leadership
  • Assist with audit, compliance, and policy requirements across corporate, state, and federal regulations
  • Support employee relations activities related to development, diversity and inclusion, ethics, and compliance
  • Serve as a liaison for community events and partnerships
  • Coordinate and help deliver employee engagement activities and training and development programs

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required
  • 2-4 years of experience in an HR support, HR coordinator, or HR operations role preferred
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with local leaders and HR teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to partner across teams and support employees in varying shifts
  • Availability to work flexible schedules when needed for events or operational priorities

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily onsite work within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Routine presence in production areas with possible exposure to noise, extreme heat or cold, and industrial equipment
  • Frequent collaboration with hourly and salaried employees working varying shifts
