Job Summary
Intrepid Potash is seeking an HR Generalist / Business Partner to support its largest mining site in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

This role serves as the daily on-site HR generalist for a workforce of more than 300 people while also supporting corporate initiatives across the company. The HR Generalist / Business Partner will support recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, training, HR policy application, workforce metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support recruiting activities including job postings, job fairs, search firm engagement, candidate applications, prescreening, interviewing, and selection
  • Deliver onboarding support including pre-employment processes, day-one experience, and 30-60-90 day plans
  • Engage and connect with the workforce through daily field visits and timely responses to employee questions
  • Support reward and recognition initiatives, community relations activities, and employee engagement efforts
  • Assist with people development strategies and tactics, including leading training classes
  • Develop, interpret, and apply HR policies to support compliance and workplace culture
  • Prepare and interpret HR metrics to support informed decision-making
  • Analyze workforce trends related to turnover, compensation, onboarding, morale, and other people-related areas
  • Use data to support continuous improvement across HR programs and site operations
  • Partner with site leadership, employees, and corporate teams to support business needs
  • Handle administrative HR tasks with accuracy and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Prior related or transferable HR generalist experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree typically required, though experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Education in business administration, marketing, journalism, math, accounting, finance, or economics preferred
  • Ability to apply HR knowledge, including employment laws and HR principles, to support business strategies
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to generate ideas, solve problems, and support practical solutions
  • Strong planning, prioritization, organization, and judgment skills
  • Ability to know when to escalate issues and when to handle matters directly
  • Strong attention to detail in administrative tasks
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to use data to drive continuous improvement
  • Experience outside of human resources in industries such as hospitality, retail, auto rental, staffing, or teaching considered helpful
  • Humility, growth mindset, and willingness to learn from others
