Job Summary
Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Mill Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance activities and reliability efforts for fixed plant assets at the Kettle River Operations Mill.

This role provides technical leadership, directs daily maintenance work, supports safe and efficient execution of maintenance plans, and partners with operations and maintenance leadership to improve reliability, throughput, cost control, and overall mill performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute approved weekly maintenance plans by coordinating daily work activities with Mill Operations and Maintenance leadership
  • Use JDE CMMS work orders to execute, document, update, and close maintenance work accurately
  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for mill equipment
  • Participate in building weekly maintenance plans with Mill Operations and Maintenance leadership
  • Work with the Planning Department to ensure planned work addresses HSE, cost control, and equipment reliability
  • Build cross-functional relationships to resolve equipment issues and reduce unplanned downtime
  • Support inventory control, including critical spares, to improve operational reliability
  • Provide input on maintenance service contracts and ensure compliance with site expectations
  • Control expenditures and support cost-reduction initiatives without compromising safety or reliability
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and related costs
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, throughput, and mill efficiency
  • Support restart efforts and ongoing operational readiness through maintenance best practices and workforce competency development
  • Administer maintenance job progression systems and support training requirements for craftspeople
  • Ensure team members are trained in lockout/tagout, confined space, working at heights, electrical isolation, and other relevant procedures
  • Maintain compliance with Kinross HSE policies, regulatory requirements, PPE standards, and permit requirements
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team while promoting safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Promote hazard reporting and ensure corrective actions are implemented
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment through housekeeping, inspections, communication, JSAs, and incident investigations
  • Support environmental regulatory and compliance obligations within maintenance activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline preferred
  • Trade certification or technical diploma such as Millwright, Mechanic, or Electrician required, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of maintenance experience in mining, milling, or heavy industrial environments
  • 5+ years of leadership experience with ability to lead teams and solve complex problems
  • Strong expertise in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability practices
  • Advanced knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and safe work practices
  • Ability to analyze data, make decisions, and influence outcomes in complex situations
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems, preferably JDE, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage competing demands
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with MSHA regulations and reporting requirements preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Authorization to work in the United States required

  • Ability to work in an active mining, milling, or production environment
  • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment in production areas
  • Ability to observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions
  • Ability to follow operating procedures and comply with regulatory requirements
  • Strong commitment to safe working practices and environmental requirements
