Job Summary
Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of heavy mobile equipment across plant operations.

This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe and efficient operations through diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote safety in all activities in accordance with MSHA and company standards
  • Service, repair, adjust, and test mobile equipment across plant operations
  • Inspect equipment to identify issues and troubleshoot mechanical problems
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel and heavy equipment
  • Handle, install, and move parts, materials, and tools safely
  • Maintain accurate service reports and documentation for equipment
  • Operate heavy equipment when required to support operations
  • Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, climbing, and handling materials
  • Support overall plant operations and maintenance activities

Qualifications

– 3+ years of diesel equipment experience with heavy equipment (yellow iron)
– Diagnostic and emissions experience required

  • Knowledge of servicing heavy construction equipment
  • Basic understanding of industrial tools and maintenance practices
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work overtime and extended hours as needed
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
