Job Summary
U.S. Silica is seeking an Automation Architect to lead enterprise automation initiatives across integration, RPA, and AI capabilities.

This role focuses on designing, maintaining, and scaling automation and integration solutions to improve business efficiency, system reliability, and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and support enterprise integrations (Oracle Integration Cloud and related platforms)
  • Lead integration projects end-to-end (requirements, design, development, deployment)
  • Monitor system performance and ensure SLA compliance
  • Support and optimize RPA solutions (UiPath, Power Automate)
  • Troubleshoot automation and integration issues
  • Identify opportunities to expand automation across business processes
  • Design and execute AI and automation Proof of Concepts (POCs)
  • Evaluate and scale automation and AI solutions
  • Participate in enterprise modernization initiatives
  • Design automation-centric architectures aligned with enterprise standards
  • Manage plant-facing applications and data integrations
  • Enable actionable plant data (alerts, reporting, monitoring)
  • Collaborate with business, IT, and external vendors

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree required
– 10+ years of experience in integration, automation, or application development

  • Strong experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or similar platforms
  • Experience with RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate)
  • Experience with .NET and/or Azure technologies
  • Experience with programming languages (preferably .NET, Python)
  • Experience supporting production systems and managing SLAs
  • Familiarity with plant/OT systems (PLC, HMI, historians)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience designing scalable and maintainable solutions
  • Ability to work independently and in lean teams
  • Experience leading vendors and delivering end-to-end solutions

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience integrating AI/GenAI into workflows
  • Exposure to Azure AI, OpenAI, or ML services
  • Experience with cloud platforms (OCI, Azure)
  • Knowledge of API design, event-driven architecture, and microservices
  • Experience with Power BI or Microsoft Fabric
  • Background in industrial, manufacturing, or logistics environments
