Job Summary
Gunnison Copper is seeking a Chief Project Geologist to lead geology programs across all stages of project development.

This role focuses on planning and executing exploration and geology programs, managing contractors, and delivering high-quality, decision-ready geological data to support project development and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, budgeting, and execution of geology programs
  • Oversee drilling, sampling, and data collection activities
  • Manage contractors, consultants, and technical vendors
  • Ensure quality and integrity of geological data and workflows
  • Support geological modeling, interpretation, and reporting
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering and project development
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
  • Prepare project reports and communicate progress, risks, and priorities
  • Support technical studies and project decision-making

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Geology (advanced degree preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience in geology project execution or management
  • Experience across multiple stages of project development
  • Experience managing contractor-led exploration and drilling programs
  • Proficiency with geological modeling, GIS, and database systems
  • Strong project management and planning skills
  • Strong communication and technical reporting skills

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience with Surpac or similar modeling software
  • Experience with resource estimation and QA/QC workflows
  • Metallurgical awareness and sampling program design
  • Basic knowledge of permitting and regulatory processes
  • Professional registration or eligibility preferred
