Job Summary
Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Manager Global Capital Projects Estimating to lead and oversee capital cost estimating across global mining projects.
This role focuses on developing estimating strategies, ensuring accurate and risk-informed cost estimates, and supporting investment decisions and project planning at a global level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global capital cost estimating strategy and governance
- Oversee development of accurate and risk-informed project estimates
- Manage and mentor a global team of estimators
- Collaborate with executives, project directors, and stakeholders
- Develop and implement standardized estimating methodologies and tools
- Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and industry benchmarks
- Perform cost analysis and risk assessments for capital projects
- Drive process improvements and implement innovative estimating tools
- Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, procurement, finance, and operations
Qualifications
One of the following:
– Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of experience in project planning and estimating
– Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience
– High School diploma with 20+ years of experience
- Strong experience in capital project estimating and cost management
- Experience in industrial or mining projects preferred
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Strong understanding of project management and engineering practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Leadership and team management experience
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Additional Experience May Include
- Experience in global or multinational organizations
- Knowledge of construction and engineering cost structures
- Experience with large-scale capital projects
- Familiarity with industry benchmarks and cost modeling
