Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to support groundwater management, modeling, and water-related operational activities at the Fourmile Project. This role focuses on optimizing dewatering strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting sustainable water management practices across mining operations.
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to analyze hydrogeologic data, support mine planning, and provide technical guidance on water-related risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced hydrogeologic analysis and modeling
- Support groundwater management, dewatering, and remediation strategies
- Analyze and interpret groundwater and surface water data
- Provide recommendations on water handling, disposal, and reuse
- Review mine designs and identify hydrogeologic risks and opportunities
- Prepare technical reports and hydrogeologic studies
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and project planning activities
- Coordinate with geology, engineering, operations, and environmental teams
- Manage consultants and support contract administration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field required
- 10+ years of experience in mining or hydrogeology preferred
- Strong knowledge of groundwater systems, hydraulic flow, and well field design
- Experience with hydrogeologic modeling techniques required
- Experience developing and applying hydrogeologic models preferred
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks related to water management
- Strong analytical, reporting, and communication skills
Additional experience may include:
- Experience in mine dewatering and water management systems
- Advanced modeling and simulation experience
- Experience working in multidisciplinary mining environments
