Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Project Geologist to lead and execute exploration programs across multiple projects in Nevada. This role focuses on project generation, target delineation, and advancing exploration opportunities through all stages of the exploration pipeline.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee field programs, and contribute to the evaluation of high-potential gold and copper exploration targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage geological teams across exploration programs
  • Design and execute exploration strategies from early-stage to advanced projects
  • Oversee drilling campaigns (RC and diamond drilling)
  • Conduct geological interpretation and target generation
  • Evaluate exploration properties and new business opportunities
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations (internal and external)
  • Ensure QA/QC, data management, and compliance with geoinformatics standards
  • Coordinate with sustainability, permitting, and community relations teams
  • Support talent development, mentoring, and knowledge transfer within teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering required
  • 8+ years of experience in mineral exploration (gold and/or copper)
  • Strong expertise in magmatic-hydrothermal or orogenic gold systems
  • Experience with Carlin-type, SEDEX, or VMS deposits (preferred)
  • Proven experience planning and executing drilling campaigns (RC and core)
  • Experience with geological software such as Leapfrog, ArcGIS Pro, IOgas
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in English required; Spanish proficiency preferred
  • Valid driver’s license (including 4×4 capability)

Additional experience may include:

  • Contribution to mineral discoveries
  • Experience across multiple exploration stages (greenfield to advanced)
  • International exploration experience
