Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking a Senior Staff Site Development Engineer to lead the planning and design of greenfield project sites for first-of-its-kind mining and metallurgical processing facilities.

This role focuses on end-to-end site development, including site selection, feasibility, civil design, grading, drainage, utilities, infrastructure planning, permitting support, and construction execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize site layouts, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, access roads, and utility corridors
  • Drive early-stage site selection, feasibility studies, and due diligence
  • Evaluate topography, geotechnical constraints, permitting considerations, and infrastructure access
  • Design and review earthwork plans, cut/fill balancing, and mass grading strategies
  • Coordinate site infrastructure systems including roads, drainage, underground utilities, and external infrastructure tie-ins
  • Manage external engineering firms, consultants, and contractors supporting civil and site development scopes
  • Oversee issued-for-construction packages for site civil works
  • Collaborate with structural, process, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure integrated site design
  • Review and validate 3D models and design packages using Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, and related tools
  • Conduct constructability reviews and support cost estimation and scheduling for site development scopes
  • Support permitting and regulatory approvals, including grading permits, stormwater compliance, and environmental considerations
  • Provide field engineering support during construction and resolve site-related issues in real time
  • Develop and improve standards, workflows, and tools for scalable site development across multiple projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in site development and civil engineering for industrial, mining, or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience delivering greenfield capital projects from concept through construction
  • Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months preferred
  • Strong experience with site grading, drainage design, stormwater management, and hydrology/hydraulics
  • Experience with earthwork optimization, mass balance, roadway design, access design, and underground utilities
  • Working knowledge of geotechnical principles and site constraints
  • Familiarity with permitting and regulatory requirements for site development
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D required
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Bluebeam preferred
  • Experience reviewing and coordinating 3D design models and multidisciplinary layouts
  • Strong track record managing external engineering firms and contractors
  • Ability to work across civil, structural, process, mechanical, and electrical teams
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining, mineral processing, chemical facilities, or EPC environments preferred
