Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking a Mine Manager, Surface Operations to lead all aspects of surface mining operations at its Copper One subsidiary.

This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while driving continuous improvement across drilling, blasting, loading, hauling, maintenance, mine expansion, and support functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute mine plans to achieve production targets while optimizing costs
  • Lead continuous improvement projects related to mine sequencing, haul road design, maintenance strategies, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee drilling and blasting operations to improve fragmentation and reduce costs
  • Manage loading and haulage operations to improve cycle times, fleet utilization, and operating performance
  • Implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime
  • Work with major OEM equipment vendors and support teams on equipment repairs and maintenance programs
  • Optimize mobile fleet performance through operator training, telematics, and benchmarking
  • Champion a zero-harm safety culture through visible leadership and employee engagement
  • Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations
  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams across drilling, blasting, hauling, maintenance, and support functions
  • Support brownfield and greenfield mine development, including permitting, infrastructure, and commissioning
  • Lead capital projects such as crusher/conveyor installations, leach pad expansions, and fleet upgrades

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in surface mining operations
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience managing large teams of 30+ employees at high-production sites
  • Demonstrated success delivering operational improvements, cost savings, and safety enhancements
  • Strong knowledge of mine planning, equipment maintenance, and regulatory compliance
  • Experience with mine expansion, greenfield development, and capital project execution is highly desirable
  • Experience with crushing/conveying systems, leach pad stacking, and mine development
  • Strong leadership, communication, team-building, and personnel development skills
