Job Summary
Alcoa is seeking a General Electrician to support electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation activities at its Massena Operations facility.

This role works on industrial machinery and production equipment, including transformers, power rectifiers, programmable logic controllers, pumps, meters, cranes, conveyor systems, aluminum reduction cells, and furnaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial machinery and electrical equipment
  • Work on transformers, power rectifiers, programmable logic controllers, pumps, meters, cranes, and conveyor systems
  • Support electrical maintenance for production equipment including aluminum reduction cells, cranes, and furnaces
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Troubleshoot circuits, switchgear, relays, motors, drives, and PLC systems
  • Support safe and reliable operations within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Work rotating shifts, weekends, and varying schedules as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Valid Journeyperson Electrician License or similar electrical certification required
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Proven electrical ability involving circuits, switchgear, relays, motors, drives, and PLCs
  • Strong work history, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Willingness to work any shift, including rotating shifts and weekends
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

  • Work within an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to support production equipment and electrical systems in plant operating areas
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and variable schedules as needed
