Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking a Diamond/Core Driller Assistant to support drilling operations at its Copper One subsidiary.

This role assists the Lead Driller with equipment setup, operation, maintenance, teardown, core handling, site preparation, and safe work practices in remote outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, operation, and teardown of diamond/core drilling rigs
  • Handle drill rods, tooling, and core barrels during drilling operations
  • Retrieve, label, and store core samples accurately
  • Mix and manage drilling fluids and maintain circulation systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on drilling equipment
  • Keep the worksite clean, organized, and hazard-free
  • Load and unload equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations
  • Support site preparation tasks such as clearing and leveling drill locations
  • Communicate effectively with the Lead Driller and crew

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in drilling, construction, mining, or a similar field is a plus
  • Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting 50+ pounds
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
  • Willingness to work long hours in outdoor and remote conditions
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • CDL is a plus
  • Safety certifications such as First Aid/CPR, OSHA/MSHA, or H2S are advantageous
