Job Summary
Talon Metals Corp is seeking a Geophysics Technician to support exploration programs in Aitkin County, Minnesota and Baraga County, Michigan. This field-based role supports geophysical surveys, data collection, drilling programs, and resource expansion activities in close collaboration with geologists, geophysicists, and field crews.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental protocols and safe work procedures.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate geophysical survey equipment.
  • Operate equipment including magnetometers, electromagnetic systems, and GPS units.
  • Collect geophysical and field data with accurate documentation.
  • Support field logistics, equipment transport, and site preparation.
  • Download geophysical data and perform quality control activities.
  • Perform basic data analysis and organize field datasets.
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and field crews during exploration programs.
  • Drive safely to and from project field sites.
  • Assist with camp operations and general field activities as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Geophysics, Earth Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and maintain field data.
  • Ability to work safely in remote outdoor environments.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to commute or temporarily stay near project sites in Michigan and Minnesota.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to hike across rugged terrain.
  • Comfortable working near rivers, wetlands, forests, and other remote outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work outdoors in changing weather conditions.
