Job Summary
Talon Metals Corp is seeking a Geophysicist to collect, process, model, and interpret geophysical data at the Tamarack Project in Minnesota while supporting new greenfield exploration programs across Michigan and Minnesota. The role focuses on geophysical exploration of Midcontinent Rift nickel deposits and the development of innovative approaches for complex subsurface modeling.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, process, model, and interpret geophysical exploration data.
• Support geophysical programs at the Tamarack Project in Minnesota.
• Help lead new greenfield exploration programs across Michigan and Minnesota.
• Develop innovative approaches for modeling complex Midcontinent Rift nickel deposits.
• Work with an in-house geophysics team supporting multiple exploration technologies.
• Support electromagnetic and borehole electromagnetic surveys.
• Work with Borehole Seismic Tomography, Magnetotellurics, and acoustic televiewer datasets.
• Apply geophysical interpretation and inversion methods to exploration targets.
• Contribute to technical decision-making across exploration programs.
• Support and mentor exploration team members where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Physics, Geology, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Three or more years of experience in geophysical exploration.
• Prior experience processing and interpreting geophysical data.
• Five or more years of geophysical interpretation experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of geophysical inversion theory preferred.
• Programming experience in C++ and/or Python preferred.
• Interest in Machine Learning theory and algorithms preferred.
• Experience leading and mentoring exploration teams preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety.

This role supports Talon Metals’ exploration efforts across the Tamarack Project and new greenfield programs in the Midcontinent Rift. The Geophysicist will contribute directly to subsurface targeting, geophysical interpretation, and the identification of nickel mineralization using advanced exploration technologies and modeling techniques.
