Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Growth Geologist II/III to support mine geology, ore control, geological modeling, and drilling programs at the Cortez open pit operations. This role supports mine-plan risk reduction, reserve and resource growth, and identification of economically viable ore zones.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily open pit mine geology activities including blast-hole and wall mapping.
  • Support daily ore control and track material from the mine to processing facilities.
  • Design, implement, track, and interpret geological drilling programs.
  • Perform drill inspections and surface geological field work.
  • Work with geological and resource modeling teams to improve models and mineral estimates.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Operations, Process, Environment, Exploration, Safety, and Finance teams.
  • Mentor and train junior geologists.
  • Prepare cost estimates and expenditure requests for production drilling programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Minimum four years of open pit or underground mine geology experience required.
  • Experience leading technical teams required.
  • Experience with Vulcan, Deswik, Leapfrog, and AcQuire required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong safety leadership record required.
