Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Senior Mine Geologist to support Mineral Resource Management and mining operations. This role combines ore control, geological modeling, mine planning support, diamond core logging, technical coordination, and supervision of junior geologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Support site safety programs and promote a strong safety culture.
- Manage ore routing activities and maintain detailed knowledge of current and upcoming mine plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior geologists.
- Coordinate with engineering, geotechnical, hydrology, metallurgy, and operations teams.
- Review mine plans to support mining optimization.
- Coordinate with Exploration to align geological models with mapped geological data.
- Log diamond core and support geological interpretation.
- Maintain quality geological mapping data using Deswik and Leapfrog.
- Assist with geological studies and prepare technical reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Geology or a related field required.
- Approximately five years of mine operations experience preferred.
- Approximately three years of exploration experience preferred.
- Experience with Deswik, Leapfrog, and AcQuire preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong safety performance required.
