Job Summary
Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking a Sr. Supply Chain Specialist to support procurement activities with a focus on contract development, negotiations, and administration.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Superintendent, this role supports operational efficiency and cost control through strategic vendor management, contract oversight, procurement documentation, and supplier performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, draft, and administer contracts in alignment with company policies and requirements
- Conduct contract negotiations with vendors, including pricing, delivery terms, warranties, service levels, and risk mitigation
- Prepare and issue RFQs, RFPs, and bid packages
- Evaluate vendor responses and provide recommendations for award
- Collaborate with legal, operations, and project teams to ensure contracts are clear, enforceable, and structured for long-term value
- Monitor vendor compliance with contractual terms
- Resolve vendor performance issues or contract disputes
- Maintain accurate procurement and contract records to support audits and compliance requirements
- Build and maintain supplier relationships to support reliable partnerships and competitive pricing
- Support cost-saving opportunities and supply chain risk mitigation strategies
- Track market trends and supplier performance to support sourcing decisions
- Follow safety, environmental, operating, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent experience may be considered
- 5-8 years of procurement experience required
- Significant experience in contract development and negotiations
- Strong working knowledge of procurement processes, contract law principles, and supplier performance management
- Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate commercial contracts
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, oil and gas, or other industrial sectors preferred
- Proficiency with ERP systems and procurement software
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills
- Valid driver’s license required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an active mining or production environment as needed
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment in production areas
- Ability to observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions
- Ability to follow operating procedures and comply with regulatory requirements
- Strong commitment to safe working practices and environmental requirements
