Job Summary
SRK Consulting is seeking a Senior / Principal Geologist to support North American and international exploration and mining clients from its Denver, Colorado practice.

This role focuses on geological and mineralization modeling, geological database validation, resource estimation support, technical studies, due diligence, independent reporting, and technical report preparation under standards such as S-K 1300, NI 43-101, and JORC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult on projects for North American and international exploration and mining clients
  • Build geological and mineralization models using commercial software packages such as Leapfrog
  • Analyze and validate geological databases, including QA/QC activities
  • Provide input into technical studies, including exploration, initial assessment, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies
  • Contribute to technical reports under standards such as S-K 1300, NI 43-101, and JORC
  • Assist in high-level assessments during due diligence and independent reporting projects
  • Apply resource estimation techniques, tools, and geostatistics to support project work
  • Generate, implement, and complete work assignments in a dynamic hybrid work environment
  • Support client-facing technical consulting work
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • Minimum of eight years of geology experience, including significant exposure to resource estimation
  • Registered professional status or eligibility for registration in a professional organization recognized by SME, CIM, or JORC for technical report preparation
  • Knowledge of independent reporting requirements under SEC S-K 1300, NI 43-101, and JORC
  • Strong technical writing expertise and excellent communication skills
  • Applied knowledge of resource estimation techniques and tools such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, and Datamine
  • Demonstrated ability to apply geostatistics
  • Ability to generate, implement, and complete work assignments in a dynamic hybrid work environment
  • Exceptional organizational, technical, leadership, and communication skills
  • Capability and fitness for intermittent domestic and international travel for site visits and fieldwork

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally for site visits and fieldwork as needed
  • Ability to support fieldwork and site-based technical assessments when required
  • Ability to work in a hybrid consulting environment
