Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking an Engineering Technician-Recycle to support field operations, process engineering, equipment operation, and technical documentation within its recycling facility.

This role bridges hands-on plant operations with engineering support, including equipment selection, interpretation of engineering drawings, maintenance of digital plant records, process monitoring, quality checks, and support for frontend material preparation and downstream chemical processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate plant equipment including shredders, separators, conveyors, screens, and bagging systems
  • Monitor material flow and equipment performance, adjusting settings to meet quality and recovery targets
  • Perform routine sampling, testing, and quality checks to support process and metallurgical control
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process control issues and support planned maintenance
  • Record operational data including tonnage, downtime, system changes, and recovery metrics
  • Maintain clean and safe work areas while following MSHA/OSHA, lockout/tagout, and hazard communication procedures
  • Participate in safety meetings and support hazard reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and maintenance teams to communicate equipment and process issues clearly
  • Support engineering projects through data collection, testing, and implementation of recommendations
  • Provide accurate updates during shift handovers to ensure consistent plant performance
  • Interpret engineering drawings, technical blueprints, and industrial schematics
  • Support equipment selection and maintain digital plant records
  • Field-verify engineering designs against physical plant constraints

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial, mining, processing, or plant operations preferred
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and safe operation of forklifts and industrial material-handling equipment
  • Basic understanding of process control systems, sensors, and instrumentation
  • Ability to read gauges, interpret data, and follow technical procedures
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools including Excel, email, and production reporting systems
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to field-verify engineering designs against physical plant constraints
  • Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and industrial schematics
  • Basic to intermediate experience with CAD software, including AutoCAD or similar tools
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Teams
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk long distances over rough, uneven terrain and climb ladders and structures
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures
  • Ability to wear and properly use required PPE, including hard hat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, high-visibility vest, hearing protection, respirator, protective clothing, and gloves
  • Ability to work in environments with potential exposure to fumes, dust, diesel, solvents, sulphuric acid, and other hazardous materials
