Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Underground Paste Plant Operator to support Goldstrike Underground operations. This role operates the surface paste plant that produces paste backfill used as geotechnical support for underground mining excavations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate processing circuits used to produce underground paste backfill.
- Monitor hydrocyclones, thickeners, vacuum disk filters, pumps, valves, conveyors, and piping.
- Monitor and control water, slurry, and reagent flows.
- Handle processing reagents and potentially hazardous chemicals safely.
- Collect samples and record operational and laboratory data.
- Adjust operating parameters to maintain process performance.
- Conduct workplace and equipment inspections.
- Support quality control and quality assurance laboratory activities.
- Qualify to operate surface equipment supporting underground mine operations.
Qualifications
- Processing facility experience preferred.
- Knowledge of high-pressure and high-temperature systems preferred.
- Mining or mineral processing experience preferred.
- Chemical and reagent handling experience preferred.
- Gold processing experience preferred.
- MSHA Part 48 New Miner Training for Underground Mines required before starting.
