Job Summary
Mariana Minerals is seeking a Metallurgy Lead to support and optimize mineral processing operations for its Copper One subsidiary in Moab, Utah.

This role focuses on metallurgical performance, process optimization, testwork, metallurgical accounting, and operational support across heap leaching, SX/EW, flotation, crushing, and milling circuits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and optimize metallurgical performance across heap leach pads, SX/EW plants, flotation circuits, and comminution areas
  • Identify bottlenecks, troubleshoot process issues, and implement improvements to enhance throughput and recovery
  • Plan and supervise metallurgical testwork, including column leach tests, flotation tests, and grinding studies
  • Interpret test results to support operational improvements and project decisions
  • Conduct routine sampling, analysis, and metallurgical accounting
  • Maintain accurate records of metallurgical balances, recoveries, and plant efficiency metrics
  • Prepare internal reports and contribute to monthly technical summaries
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, geology, technical services, and project development teams
  • Provide metallurgical input for capital projects, equipment selection, and commissioning activities
  • Promote a strong safety culture across metallurgical and plant operations
  • Ensure metallurgical work aligns with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of experience in mineral processing
  • Experience with hydrometallurgical and flotation circuits preferred
  • Strong understanding of heap leach dynamics, SX/EW systems, flotation chemistry, and comminution fundamentals
  • Experience designing metallurgical test programs and interpreting test results
  • Strong data analysis, metallurgical accounting, and performance optimization skills
  • Experience with metallurgical modeling and process simulation tools such as METSIM, HSC, or similar software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into actionable recommendations
  • Proactive, safety-conscious, results-driven, and collaborative mindset
  • Ability to thrive in a field-based, production-focused environment
