Job Summary
U.S. Silica is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support mining operations by ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of heavy equipment and site infrastructure.

This role focuses on hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in a fast-paced industrial environment, contributing directly to equipment uptime and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on heavy equipment
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and industrial systems
  • Install equipment and machinery using blueprints and technical manuals
  • Maintain equipment and facilities following established procedures
  • Determine appropriate repair methods and materials
  • Hoist, transport, and position equipment using cranes and lifting equipment
  • Operate site equipment to support maintenance activities
  • Perform welding, cutting, rigging, and fabrication tasks
  • Work safely at heights and on elevated platforms
  • Conduct pre-task inspections of work areas and equipment
  • Collaborate with team members across different skill levels
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications
– High school diploma or GED required

  • Strong commitment to safety and quality
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to multitask in fast-paced environments
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work at heights (up to 80 ft)
  • Hands-on capability with tools and industrial equipment

Additional Experience May Include

  • MSHA knowledge
  • Forklift experience
  • Computer software skills
  • Warehouse or industrial operations experience
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, forklifts, water trucks)
