Job Summary
Equinox Gold is seeking a Senior Mine Engineer to lead mine planning, design, and execution activities for the Mesquite Mine.

This role plays a critical part in bridging short-term and long-term planning, supporting operational performance, and driving engineering excellence across the operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute mine plans, including life-of-mine (LOM) planning and short-term scheduling
  • Use planning software for pit design, dump design, leach pad design, and reserve estimation
  • Identify operational and planning constraints and support business planning cycles
  • Analyze production performance and reconcile actual vs budget results
  • Lead engineering projects and support operational decision-making
  • Maintain communication across departments to ensure alignment with mine plans
  • Mentor and support junior engineers
  • Utilize block models for planning and engineering analysis
  • Support reclamation planning and environmental considerations
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field
– 7+ years of experience in mining engineering (open pit preferred)

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience with MinePlan or similar mine planning software
  • Knowledge of survey equipment and mine operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in budgeting and cost control
