Job Summary

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Process Mechanical Engineer to support project execution and process operations at its Carlin site. This role involves contributing to engineering projects from early-stage planning through construction and commissioning, ensuring efficient and safe implementation.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support project delivery, optimize plant performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across processing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support execution of small to medium-sized projects, including planning, design, construction, and commissioning
• Assist in project lifecycle activities from scoping and feasibility to execution
• Support cost estimation and forecasting for projects
• Coordinate with engineering consultants and internal stakeholders
• Assist in procurement of equipment, materials, and services
• Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and performance standards
• Monitor project progress, including schedule, cost, and quality control
• Communicate regularly with operations, environmental, and safety teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred
• Knowledge of project management principles (preferred)
• Experience or familiarity with mineral processing operations (preferred)
• Experience working with contractors and contract management (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar tools (preferred)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Additional experience may be considered for more advanced roles:

• Experience managing engineering or capital projects
• Background in process plant design or optimization
• Exposure to construction and commissioning phases
