Job Summary:

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking an Open Pit Mining Engineer to support mine planning and production optimization across large-scale gold operations, focusing on efficiency and safety. You will collaborate with operations, geology, and maintenance teams to ensure effective execution of mine plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support short and long-term mine planning
  • Analyze production and operational performance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field required
  • Experience in open pit mining operations preferred
  • Proficiency with mine planning tools such as Deswik (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Python and SQL for data analysis (preferred)
  • Strong skills in CAD and Microsoft Office (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification preferred
  • 3+ years of post-graduate mining engineering experience preferred

Additional experience may be considered for more senior-level roles:

  • 10+ years of mining engineering experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or higher)
  • Experience leading engineering teams or managing budgets
