Job Summary
MP Materials is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer to support PLC/SCADA systems, optimize plant performance, and drive process improvements across mining and processing operations.

This role focuses on automation, control systems, and integration of process engineering with plant operations to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain PLC/SCADA systems for plant operations
  • Develop and update HMI graphics (Ignition, GE iFix)
  • Program control logic using RSLogix (ladder, function block, structured text)
  • Troubleshoot control systems, instrumentation, and process equipment
  • Support installation and commissioning of control systems
  • Design control strategies aligned with plant process requirements
  • Manage PI data historian tags, displays, and reporting
  • Collaborate with operations to identify bottlenecks and improve performance
  • Review engineering documents for capital and internal projects
  • Support automation and control aspects of new construction activities

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
– 7+ years of experience in process control within industrial environments

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms
  • Experience with Ignition, iFix, and OSI PI systems
  • Knowledge of PFDs, P&IDs, and instrumentation diagrams
  • Experience in chemical, mining, or heavy industrial environments
