Job Summary
AngloGold Ashanti is seeking a Sr. Mine Planning Engineer to develop and optimize short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans supporting project development and operational readiness.

This role focuses on pit optimization, economic evaluation, and integrated mine planning to maximize project value and support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans
  • Design mine development, waste dumps, stockpiles, haulage, and reclamation plans
  • Conduct pit optimization and economic evaluations to maximize NPV
  • Lead engineering studies to improve mine design and reduce project costs
  • Prepare and maintain mineral resource and reserve estimates (SEC SK-1300 compliant)
  • Support Technical Report Summary (TRS) preparation and reporting
  • Collaborate with geology, processing, permitting, and environmental teams
  • Convert geological models into executable mine plans
  • Support permitting processes and regulatory compliance
  • Develop reclamation plans and cost estimates

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or related field
– 5+ years of mining experience with 3+ years in mine planning

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience with Datamine, MineSight, Vulcan, or similar
  • Experience with Whittle or NPV Scheduler
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS tools
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or eligibility
