Job Summary
Hecla Mining Company is seeking a Senior Exploration Geologist to lead exploration programs across near-mine, district, and regional projects.

This role focuses on geological interpretation, drill program execution, and resource development, while leading teams and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage exploration programs and geological interpretation
  • Supervise and mentor geology teams and contractors
  • Plan and execute drilling programs (surface and underground)
  • Conduct geological mapping, sampling, and core logging
  • Develop geological models, cross-sections, and maps
  • Analyze geological data to support exploration targeting
  • Contribute to resource modeling and technical reporting
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Geology (Master’s preferred, structural or epithermal focus)

  • 7+ years of exploration experience
  • Experience with epithermal deposit systems
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency with geological software (e.g., Vulcan, ArcGIS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in remote field environments

Additional Experience May Include

  • Experience in underground and surface exploration programs
  • Experience with NI 43-101 resource reporting
  • Strong technical reporting and presentation skills
