Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Project Engineer to support process and infrastructure projects at its Cortez operations. This role focuses on delivering infrastructure and site development projects that support autonomous mining systems and operational improvements.

You will act as a key link between engineering and operations, ensuring alignment of project requirements, system integration, and successful execution across planning, construction, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning and execution of infrastructure and site development projects
  • Coordinate project activities from scoping and feasibility through construction and commissioning
  • Collaborate with operations, technical services, maintenance, and engineering teams
  • Assist in aligning mine planning and design with autonomous system requirements
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders
  • Support cost tracking, forecasting, and project reporting
  • Assist in procurement of equipment, materials, and services
  • Ensure projects meet safety, environmental, and performance standards
  • Participate in evaluation and implementation of new technologies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Mining Engineering, or related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in mining or related industries required
  • 5+ years of experience in mine operations preferred
  • Experience with autonomous systems or fleet management systems (preferred)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project) required
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

Additional experience may be considered for more senior roles:

  • Experience managing infrastructure or capital projects
  • Exposure to autonomous mining systems or advanced technologies
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders
