Job Summary
Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Process Operator to support the Goldstrike Autoclave Operations department in Carlin, Nevada.

This role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of processing circuits and equipment, including grinding, crushing, carbon-in-leach, resin-in-leach, elution, autoclaves, roasters, thickeners, boilers, water treatment systems, off-gas handling, reagent handling, electrowinning, furnaces, sampling, data recording, and circuit monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned processing circuits within specified standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain circuit operating parameters within designated limits
  • Conduct work area exams to identify and correct substandard conditions
  • Document conditions not corrected by the end of shift
  • Conduct routine equipment inspections to identify safety, environmental, property damage, or reliability concerns
  • Make basic repairs when trained and qualified, or generate work requests in the work management system
  • Conduct detailed equipment inspections and document deficiencies
  • Ensure sampling is completed at designated intervals, accurately processed, and properly documented
  • Stop and start equipment and system components as required
  • Monitor and control water and slurry flows, reagent additions, conveyors, pumps, valves, piping, and related equipment
  • Make calculations and operational adjustments to maintain process parameters within limits
  • Understand process flows and equipment fundamentals to support LOTO and troubleshooting activities
  • Handle potentially hazardous chemicals and reagents safely
  • Maintain housekeeping and circuit cleanliness to support safe operations
  • Work with team members to complete tasks safely and efficiently

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to perform essential functions, including working in hot or cold weather conditions
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision
  • Proven safety and attendance record
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a processing facility preferred
  • Knowledge of high-pressure and high-temperature systems preferred
  • Direct experience in a process or mining environment preferred
  • Experience handling chemicals and reagents preferred
  • Experience in gold ore processing preferred
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule of nights and days

Physical Requirements

  • Work in hot or cold weather conditions
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights and days
  • Perform inspections and operational tasks within a processing plant environment
  • Handle chemicals and reagents in accordance with safety procedures
  • Follow LOTO, operating procedures, and applicable safety requirements
