Job Summary
Intrepid Potash is seeking a Process Engineer to support operational excellence from brine extraction to finished product at its Moab, Utah operation.

This role works closely with operations, pond, and plant teams to troubleshoot process and quality issues, stabilize plant performance, manage brine systems, optimize production processes, and lead improvement initiatives that support recovery, throughput, quality, and safe field execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot process and quality issues in a hands-on, field-based environment
  • Partner with operations and pond teams to stabilize plant performance and manage brine systems
  • Align cavern, pond, and plant operations to meet production and quality targets
  • Optimize key processes including flotation, dewatering, and material handling
  • Improve recovery, throughput, and operational performance
  • Lead improvement initiatives and capital projects to ensure results are sustained in the field
  • Support forecasting, data analysis, and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain clear operating standards across process and operational areas
  • Work side-by-side with operational groups to solve problems and support daily performance
  • Gather, synthesize, analyze, and present operational and environmental information to stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required, such as Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, Industrial, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in a mining or chemical processing operation
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter while remaining humble and coachable
  • Ability to balance technical design with hands-on field execution
  • Comfort working between a climate-controlled office and rugged industrial field locations
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to generate practical solutions using sound judgment
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, analyze, and present information effectively
  • Ability to inspire confidence and trust as a competent team player

Physical Requirements

  • Work in both office and rugged industrial field environments
  • Comfortable transitioning between climate-controlled spaces and field-based operational areas
  • Pre-employment substance abuse testing required
