Job Summary
Burgex Mining Consultants is seeking a Permitting and GIS Specialist to support mineral land research, permitting, claim mapping, and spatial intelligence for mining and mineral resource projects.

This role focuses on translating complex land records, mineral rights data, and GIS information into actionable intelligence for geologic, landman, and field operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and coordinate mineral exploration permits, including BLM 3809 Plan of Operations and Notice of Intent documentation
  • Support the Landman Team with day-to-day GIS tasks required for active land and mineral projects
  • Create accurate mineral claim maps for field navigation and regulatory filings
  • Ensure maps meet applicable state statutes and Bureau of Land Management requirements
  • Prepare digital maps for field crews and process field data to ensure ground truth is reflected accurately in internal databases
  • Assist with land status and mineral entry research using online databases, county records, and public land records
  • Integrate land research data into ArcGIS workflows
  • Maintain organized geodatabases and project files within ArcGIS Pro
  • Ensure mapping data is clean, consistent, and ready for immediate use by the land and geologic teams

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro is required
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Ambitious early-career candidates with a strong technical foundation will be considered
  • Previous Landman experience is not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including land, geology, and field operations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills and high digital fluency
  • Interest in mining, mineral exploration, land management, and the U.S. mineral supply chain
