Job Summary
Florence Copper is seeking a Metallurgist I to support copper recovery and process optimization within an in-situ recovery (ISR) SX/EW operation.
This role focuses on metallurgical testing, process monitoring, and improving copper extraction efficiency from wellfield to cathode production.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in solution characterization (PLS, raffinate, electrolyte)
- Support lab-scale leaching and SX/EW test work
- Monitor and optimize SX/EW and leaching circuits
- Analyze cathode quality and process efficiency
- Collect, analyze, and report metallurgical data
- Collaborate with engineers, operators, and maintenance teams
Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or related Engineering
~2 years of experience in copper processing or SX/EW
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of metallurgical processes and plant operations
- Attention to detail in lab and field environments
- Strong safety mindset
Additional Experience May Include
- Exposure to leaching or SX/EW operations
- Experience with process instrumentation or control systems
- Familiarity with Excel, PI System, or metallurgical tools
